Managing self-care while being an everyday super woman

Self-care is one of the most under utilized practices for most people, especially women. Everyday more and more women are finding it difficult to find time to care fore themselves all while taking care of every one and everything around them. Most continue this until they experience burnout, which can lead to stress, anxiety, and even depression.

Why is self-care such a challenge? Not enough time, no money, others need you. These are some of the most common reasons used. What most fail to realize is that soon these things will also lack as you will not have enough to give if you are not restoring yourself.  When taking the first steps in adding self-care back into your routine you first want to make it a commitment. This tends to be the most difficult part as it will require you to put your self back into the number one spot, which can be difficult as self tends to take a back seat when you are responsible for others.

The Challenge: Choose one self-care activity to do Daily, Weekly, and Monthly. These activities must be non-negotiable and something you enjoy doing. Some easy here is a mini list to get you started!

  1. Take a walk
  2. Treat yourself (nails, hair, lunch, mini item)
  3. Read a new book
  4. Take a bubble bath
  5. Meditate
  6. Write out positive affirmations
  7. Journal
  8. Exercise
  9. Take a mini trip
  10. Get a massage
